Continental Clothing can offer organic T-shirt printing, on organic apparel products, to produce a ready-to-wear 100% certified organic printed product for retail. Continental Clothings’ certification to global standards ensures the organic status of textiles and provides a credible assurance to the end consumer. |
Certified 100% Organic Product
In order to be certified as organic, Continental Clothing must be able to trace and record every input of production - from cotton seed all the way through to the finished printed apparel product sitting in it’s organic licenced warehouses, ready for distribution. This process is governed by criteria set out by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Continental Clothing has proven the chemical make up of everything involved in its production - including the printing inks - is compliant to this standard. The criteria for what you are and are not allowed to use in printed organic textiles is very strict. |
Organic Processes
"Organic T-shirt printing means we work to strict standards on our print production line. We developed water based and acrylic inks whose ingredients are permitted under v2 of the GOTS standard. No aromatic solvents (white spirit), no formaldehyde, no pvc, no phthalates, no apeo’s or heavy metals are allowed to be used; no chemical that presents any risk of toxicity to the environment is permitted. Our effluent is tested for its environmental and aquatic toxicology and its biodegradability. In addition, we must operate to strict social criteria applied to the entire supply chain - a free and safe working environment and the rights of workers to collective bargaining. Strictly no child labour is allowed; wages at minimum meet national legal standards, working hours comply with national laws, regular employment is provided and no discrimination is practiced. It is the traceability and transparency of the entire supply chain which is paramount.” |
